It's been a long and painful week
Denying her both calm and sleep,
Yet as she spies the setting sun
A hopeful smile begins to peep;
Because she's going home.
Her face is pale, her eyelids droop,
Her body's begging to unwind;
But at last, she's home.
Denying her both calm and sleep,
Yet as she spies the setting sun
A hopeful smile begins to peep;
Because she's going home.
Her head is pounding ruthlessly,
A dozen troubles on her mind;Her face is pale, her eyelids droop,
Her body's begging to unwind;
But at last, she's home.
She feels the warmth push out the cold;
The creases on her face ease out,
Her hair hugs tight the pillow fold.
