Tempest

A drop of rain comes trickling down
The mist upon my window pane;
As with every falling drop
Come pouring down a thousand thoughts,
That constellate before my eyes
And set my mind aflame.

A flame that outshines every spark,
That lights my soul on fire,
That drowns out every thought until
All that I am is lost to me:
Just a raging fire in the rain,
Fuelled by thoughts of you.

The distant thunder rumbles on
Without a care for you or me,
For the world will live on without us,
Though my world is crashing down;
For until I feel your love again
I'll stay here, burning, in the rain.

Alone and drenched, in endless wait,
Misting up the window pane.
